We landed in Rīga and then 3 hour drive to my grandmother's house in Jūrkalne.Word..............gulbis = swan
Dish................crispy cabbage salad with shredded carrots and light vinegar
Highlight.......Ainars, my grandmother's neighbor, who picked us up, invited me to go kayaking with him
Lowlight........sick as a dog, in bed with a fever
Random observations........it's not very smart to do one overnight flight (AK to SF), then party for two days, then another overnight flight (SF to NYC to Rīga).
