Fairly nice day out today. Overcast but no rain, and not as cold as it has been. I was still a bit grumpy and got into a discussion with mom about the word "nepilsonis" which means non-citizen. How can you be angry about a word like non-citizen? oh well, I always thought the word was "nepersons" and she was angry about being considered a non-person, but I guess it's not for me to understand how Alise's mind works.
In the afternoon, we went to the beach and had a nice walk. It was colder than the first time we went, so no hockey playing, but mom walked as far as she did the first day, and this time did it with no breaks.
Word.....................nepilsonis = non-citizen (please don't take offense)
Dish.......................darzenu zupa = vegetable soup with potatoes, carrots, celery, cabbage, egg, and bits of chicken (mom took out the big hunks)
Highlight.................as always, the beach.
Lowlight.................seeing mom get so upset about the word nepilsonis.
Random Observation.................I love how the word "wave" is both the waves in the sea and to wave hello. It's like the sea is waving hello to me. In Latvian, the word wave is "vilnis" which is similar to "vilna" which is wool. I like to imagine there are little wooly sheep riding the waves and making them all white and foamy.
